Team Takes Top Award |
| The 2009 Civil Defence competitions (Res-Ex 2009) held in Taupo on Labour weekend eight teams battled for the coveted prize of Top Team. Eight demanding exercises testing the teams abilities to respond to and complete set tasks all based around civil emergencies. |

Upper Hutt teams work to build relationships |
| A joint exercise between Upper Hutt Community Rescue, Hutt City Response Team, Upper Hutt Police, Wellington Free Ambulance and Military Police was held on October 10 in the Karapoti area of the Akatarawa Forest, Upper Hutt. |

Siftwater Rescue Responder Course |
| A two day Swiftwater Responder Course run for team members of Upper Hutt Community Rescue in conjuction with Emergency Management Academy of New Zealand (EMANZ) the Rescue 3 International agent in New Zealand. There were 8 members of UHCR that completed the course. |

| Exercise Backblast 16-17th February 2007 was a good test of Upper Hutt Community Rescue’s response capabilities, and proved that we have a great team that works well together and can perform outstandingly when given the opportunity. |
